About
Lost Sounds is owned by one time Decca Records recording engineer David Crosby. While at Decca, David worked alongside legendary producer Geoff Milne enhancing the audio quality of hundreds of vintage recordings. This work included recordings from artists such as Bing Crosby, Vera Lynn, Al Bowly, Gracie Fields and Jessie Matthews, these restored recordings are still available today because of David’s meticulous skill.
Today’s modern software and the latest restoration techniques mean that the very best of results are often achievable for nostalgic recordings. David has over 35 years of experience in this field and in recent years has been approached by a number of people with precious recordings of school concerts, loved ones voices, family recordings and childhood days all captured on tape but alas either the tapes are in poor condition or the necessary playback equipment is no longer available.
Not only does Lost Sounds have the machines for playing back these important recordings but the necessary equipment for improving the sound quality. Likewise Lost Sounds will also transfer shellac, acetate and vinyl recordings into a digital format as requested.
